Hi willsy Thanks so much for this information.  I just didn't think that there would be anything on a bastardy case as Martha died June 1826 in Great Bardfield aged 19

JOSHUA  PASFIELD
B: Great Bardsfield Essex England b 1825
Bapt: 29.10.1826 Base child of MARTHA PASFIELD

Therefore the case was in April 1826, Martha died in June 1826 and then Joshua was baptised.  I imagine his Grandparents may have brought him up!!

JOSEPH PASFIELD and MARY nee HILLS being Martha's parents.  Amazing.  Thank you.  Regards Dianna

So it seems a man called James Underwood was the father of Joshua Passfield.

They may have eventually married if Martha had not died so young.

that it was you who kindly sent me that information on the marriage of Joshua being listed as "Illegitimate" therefore you must have seen it.
