Strange question maybe
« on: Wednesday 06 September 23 14:11 BST (UK) »
Hi I have just come across a marriage between my 2 x Grandfather on one tree and my 1st cousin 2 x removed on another of my trees.  Is this legal?  I am struggling to get my head round it.
I can give more detail if needed.  :-\

What do you mean by "on one tree" as opposed to "another tree?"

Gloucestershire:  Barnard, Marsh, Crossman
Bristol:  Banks, Duddridge, Barnard
Down:  Ennis, McGee
Wicklow:  Chapman, Pepper

~Yes Frank Pinchin my 2 x grandfather
Emily Clara Louisa Arman nee Coleman on another tree.

But when I look into it my great grandmother Florence M Pinchin (franks daughter) married James Powell Coleman.  So they were linked but I had not made the connection.
I think I maybe confusing myself to be honest!!

Hi Suzy
For me to get my head around that I would need to see them both on the same tree. I have similar 'double' connections within my tree that sometimes cross the generations.
Incidentally, I have a separate tree for each Grandparent, which I have on spreadsheets.

First cousin marriages weren't (and aren't) illegal.

Only in some US states!
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)
