Rockhampton Crematorium, Qld

Hi

I am wondering if anybody will be visiting the Rockhampton Crematorium and would be willing to take a photograph for me.

The Crematorium office has advised me that Walter Henry GOSTELOW who passed away 28.7.1966 and his wife Dorothy Jean GOSTELOW who died 28.2.1975 were laid to rest in a Family Plot being Section 3 Plot 125. I would appreciate a photo of the Plot, and memorial.

As I live in Sydney I am unable to visit the Cemetery.

The record for these people are on findagrave.com if you have not seen it you would need to register if you are not a member . It  does say there is no grave photo but you could try clicking on the request photo button and see what the outcome is

Hi Garstonite, many thanks for your message.

My Walter Henry was born in Qld on 21.2.1902. His parents were Edgar Gostelow and Sarah Jane Meech.
I have traced his parents and most of his siblings and hope to find a photo of his grave site to add to my information.  I have contacted the Qld State Library regarding a death/ funeral notice for Walter and or his wife Dorothy in the Rockhampton newspapers.

My interest is in the Meech family connection, Sarah Jane was the daughter of Robert Meech and Susannah Cox, Susannah was a sister to my G G G grandfather Henry Cox.

Yes that is the family, the tree may be incorrect.

I have found, Sarah Jane Meech was born 1857 on NSW BDM index,
I think another daughter Emily Florence was born in 1855 /1857 on her headstone states Emily was 86 yrs when she died in 1942.
I don't think Robert Meech and Susannah Cox every married, the children I have found on NSW BDM were registered under various surnames, Cox, Meech, Meach and Meachcox.

This all adds to the fun of searching the family tree, helps keep the brain active
