As a change from the usual and as there still seems to be a shortage of requests.

A cabinet card, rounded corners but no decoration to edges or back. So at a guess anywhere from 1870 to 1910 but I'd guess on the earlier side.

The round thing at the top does appear to be a football-shaped hat crown hence the reference to a football supporter.

The scanner cropped off card on the right-hand side but no part of the image or extra information.

Thank you Japeflakes, restoration isn't easy when the photos are so faded.

Very helpful information, Tonepad, thank you. So unlikely to be after 1901 and possibly as early as 1891 at least.

Pageants were very popular in the later Victorian Era & I
would suggest she is taking part in one.
Taken in a photo booth the photographer probably
took a lot of these.
Not as early as 1870's & most probably 1880's.
She looks about 16/17 according to her skirt length.

Thank you for the dates Jim, a pageant certainly is a possibility. I can't imagine many female fans turning out at matches dressed like that.

Handypandy that may be the answer, certainly the best candidate so far. I'd been looking for Swallows and only found a Rugby Union club playing in 1885. Pretty certain that the ball on her head isn't oddly shaped!

Thank you for the restore as well.
