There is an engagement notice for the couple in "The Advertiser" (Adelaide) 19 March 1951. She is the "youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs W Ballintyne of North Adelaide".

William and Nellie Emma BALLINTYNE are living in Boulder, Western Australia on the 1922 electoral roll. They married in Boulder in 1921 - William BALLINTYNE and Nellie Emma TIERNEY (700049).
