Thanks Sandra.
If Robert died in Saskatchewan it may be tough to find him. My experience with Saskatchewan is that it is a black hole for family history researchers.

Robert Smith birth registered Jun 1872 Scarborough is shown as dying 23 Jun 1947 Regina

Ed

The 1881 census seems to indicate 1878

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q27B-8JHB

Notice that family tree entry says buried at Regina Cemetery. Regina. Saskatchewan. 23 June 1947

https://www.familysearch.org/search/linker?ark=/ark:/61903/1:1:Q27B-8JHB&id=G653-4M2&hinting=/tree/person/details/

Can't see an obit for him, yet there was one for Joseph earlier that year.  Perhaps because he was a single person, never married.

Have you tried to contact them to confirm those details. ?

Burial for Joseph said "in the family plot"  ??

Some Regina Cemetery burials are online but not showing Joseph or Robert. A telephone call produced  Joseph burial 27 Mar located Block 504, Plot 13, Lot S and Robert burial 30 Jun 1947 located Block 511, Plot 13, Lot N. Surprised they are not together.

Hi, I've got a letter and some photos from Millie and Red that were sent to my mum when we lived in a pub at Driffield. It referred to uncle Alfred and Terry Askew (of Lowthorpe). Alfred was married to Mary Jane Smith, Terry was her son (Carl Terence) and my grandad was George Alfred Askew and my mum was Carole Burton nee Askew. Mum had died two years ago and I found the letter amongst her possessions. I didn't know anything about this or knowing I might have some relations living in Canada, as I've been doing our family tree for many years.
I hope you can help me to find more about my ancestry, please and thanks.
Regards
Debbie

Hi, this is one of the pics of Millie and Red Mcilvaine, it was found amongst my mum’s possessions. So Millie was Joseph Smith’s daughter and Joseph must have been the brother of my great nan, Mary Jane Smith, born 4/8/1890.
