Excellent news.
Well done for contacting the LMA, and what a brilliant response from them.

An unexpected advantage of a poor microfilm, prompted the LMA to go the extra mile.
Well done, WirralLad.

Hi Bookbox & jonw65

Thanks to you both for your comment, I must admit I was  surprised my the great response from the MLA.
BUT be warned I now need to write this all up in a logical way. I may be back asking for more advice.

Regards

Hi Trish1120,
Thanks for your comment although it only with the help of people like yourself and the other individual who have replied to the thread that I have been able to make sense of the records.

I must also record that the staff at the LMA have been very helpful.  I have now received a second e-mail from them with respect to a second baptism in 1821 at St Pancras Old Church, reference has previously been made to this baptism in this thread. They have e-mailed me the best image they can achieve of the relevant page of the parish register, the BT is even more feint.

I have below attached a copy of the register plus three transcripts:

The three transcripts give me three different names for the person being baptised, can anybody tell me which, if any, is correct?
One out of two transcripts say the person being baptised is male;  the other female, both myself and the MLA believe the record says 'daughter of'!!
The two transcriptions that give a father's name give different names, can anybody tell me which, if any are correct?  I would prefer a judgement because I know what I want it to be!!

Can any body read the name of the street that is recorded as their abode?

Than to all in anticipation of further help.
Regards
Wirral Lad

I read it as

Dorinda daughter of William and Jane Audley Johnson Street Beadle

Can't work out what is in the last box.
Smith Tiplady Boulton Branthwaite King Miller Woolfall Bretherton Archer and many more

Johnson Street Beadle

As already suggested in my reply #10 above.

Can't work out what is in the last box.

Octob 10th [date of birth, see my reply #10], and the name of the clergyman.

I agree with Dorinda.

As for the father's name, it's tricky to see it as William, but other examples nearby in this same register are very similarly written. (The Ls in the middle are very short.)

Bookbox & emelton

Thanks to both for your replies.

The reason I asked about the  the street name, was because the person at the MLA with whom I have been exchanging e-mails with was unsure of the street name. Therefore I thought I would go for a second opinion.

Thanks once again
