Re the question "Is there a Minister's name" on the marriage certificate, I believe the Rev W F Burchell was the minister at West Street in '47?

The map shows West street Chapel as a large building, indeed it was so when my brother and I attended Sunday School there in the 1940s, but when I last visited Rochdale about 10 years ago I found that that building was a Chinese warehouse and the chapel was a small modern building next door.  The same sort of thing had happened to Newbold Baptist Church, too.

My grandfather was organist and choirmaster at West Street in the early 1900s.

Should have done this earlier  ::)

The marriage took place in Rochdale so you are both right, I would think with West Street, Rochdale.

My Heywood relatives’ marriages were registered in Bury.

Thankyou everyone for all of your help and advice.
Sorry I have only just been able to reply.
The officiating minister reads Peter Provit/Procet/Procit (not the easiest to read)

On your snippet, after the Chapel address it says ‘in …’
What does it say after that?

Shows that John was b Crompton and Mary b Rochdale so it would be likely they married in Rochdale.
