Hi All
I am trying to find the marriage of Edwin Henry Gavell. He was born in 1852, in Shoreditch, the son of Joseph and Hannah Gavell.
In the 1891 census his wife's name is given as Annie, born about 1860 in Bethnal Green,  with their first child, Maud my ancestor, born about 1887.
Any help will be gratefully received.

There seems to be no sign of a marriage after searching on variations of both Edwin’s first and surnames.

Maud’s  mother’s maiden name is shown as WELFORD, unless she had been married previously, any marriage should show up between GAVELL and WELFORD.

Are they alive in 1911?  That census asks for number of years married **

Son Joseph has mothers maiden name MITCHELL if I am looking at the right birth.

Next son Edwin has WELFORD

Maybe a different family - marriage Annie Mitchell to John Joseph/Joseph John Gavell in 1882

Or is it?  Annie Harriet and Lily both have Mitchell and all those children are together in 1911 with Edwin & Annie.
