Riley Parents

Looking for parents of John Riley born 1908 Wakefield I believe with name like Riley in this area is quite hard to find out. I do know he married a Ethel Clasby born 1911 Battersea London. They had 6 children. Robert, Kathleen,John,Barbara,Dennis and Jean she died as a baby. I'm looking for John's parents if anyone can help. They moved to Leeds LS9 area. Ethel died 1995. Thanks for any help.

This does nt seem to  tally with John Riley's  year of birth.

Ethel was my Aunt I didn't realize she was older than her husband.

Are they the ones  in the 1939 register that are living in Bristol.

John born 5 Aug 1907 a cinema attendant & Ethel born 5 July 1914.

No I am wrong.

1939 register, Ethel M. Riley born 17 June 1911 living reading with a Jarrett family. No husband with her but could be eldest child which is redacted.

Ethel Mary Riley died 1993 at Leeds.

How do you know that John was born in Wakefield?
Was Ethel a widow on her death?
