Thanks. I wanted to verify where he was living, as he was a hermit who lived in a tiny hut. When the story came to the newspapers in 1898, his son Henry apparently came forward and took him in and said he'd care for him. When I found out he died of starvation and pneumonia, I suspected he was back in a hut, this time in Boston. Seems he had someone living with him, it couldn't have been comfortable with two people. How sad.

These articles are brilliant, thanks so much. He is my 3 X Great Uncle, utterly fascinating .
Now I just need to find out what happened in the murder trial of his daughter, why her husband wasn't hung and what happened to her two children.
