1939 Hosptial Patient
« on: Sunday 17 September 23 13:39 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone, I am trying to find my great aunt on the 1939 survey. Her name was Mary Berth Wood (known as Mary). She is not listed with her family and I am aware that sometime in early 1939 she developed TB. She died on new years eve 1939 at West Hulme Isolation Hospital so she may be there during the suvey.
Can anyone help please,
thanks, Luke

There is a 1939 entry for Mary Wood listed as a patient in the Municipal Hospital, Oldham - but she is said to have been born in 1915.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

'Westhulme Hospital, Oldham'  is how the hospital address is listed if you need to browse it.  Looking at one random page of it there are lots of records still redacted at that address

The 1939 Register was not a survey - see Google for full details

Also - info from the register that can only be obtained via subscription is not permitted by RC.  I confirmed that with Sarah earlier this year.

Info only available via subscription includes address/birthdate/occupation/names of others at same address

Possible death

Mary Wood Mar 1939 Oldham 8d 1110 age 18

This looks like the only death for a young Mary Wood so, if she died on New Year’s Eve, it would be 1938 and would not be on the register.
