There is a baptism for George Liffler, 1783, St Martin in the Fields.
Perhaps not much help.

Thats useful, thank you.

The reason for asking aboutt his is that Thomas Grant went from being a servant in Bere Regis and East Stoke in Dorset in 1836 to being a furnitutre dealer in soho by 1841 and I was trying to find out how/where he might have obtained the means to do so. I wondered if George Liffiter was his business partner.

Thanks for these, so it looks like hs name is Liffiton not Liffiter and he was a tailor, I will have to chek these records carefully and see if there is any connection to Thomas Grant.
