« on: Monday 18 September 23 20:21 BST (UK) »
Trying to find someone born in Grenoble, France around 1863.  I've tried Ancestry and Familysearch.  Any other suggestions?

All I have is her name, approx. year of birth and place of birth.

You could below post what you know of her,
or,
you could try to find her yourself in the 10-year tables of births in Grenoble. I've selected the period 1860 to 1865.

Thank you garstonite and Zefiro.

I'm looking for information on Eugenie ALLEMAND born c1863.  Died in Horton Asylum in 1911.  That's all I have.  Can't find anything online via Ancestry etc.  I appreciate overseas records are few and far between.

Findagrave suggests year of birth of 1866. Two people have left flowers on the site, perhaps there's a small chance they know more? You can click on their names to send a message.

I can't see any entries in the right time-frame in Grenoble that could be her. There was a Eugénie Léonie ALLEMAND born 4 July 1870 but she died in Grenoble on 31 December 1952. I don't suppose there's any way to get any form of records from the Asylum giving full name, DOB, next of Kin? Do you know if ALLEMAND was her maiden name or not?

Addendum: the admission register doesn't give much info  :( just that she was in the Long Grove Asylum in the Horton area of Epsom, Surrey.

Thank for checking.  I'm researching her as part of the Horton Asylum project.  There is no information available/her admission record and case notes no longer exist.  I have only what I found on the 1911 census entry - she was single and a milliner.  I knew it was a long shot but I was hoping to find French records.  I have also checked for other people named ALLEMAND on the census but couldn't spot a match.

Eugenie was born in Grenoble and died in Surrey. When and why did she leave France? Marriage? Are there sources about foreign people coming to live in the UK?
Without additional information, there would be no way of knowing for sure if a birth record really was that of 'your' Eugenie. I agree with manukarik that there seems to be no entry that suits your information.
