Hi Debra -

Thank you for replying, sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you!

Where does this information come from?

I think you already found it but the immigration records for the 'Eagle' are available at FamilySearch: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:939V-R7ZC-T?i=259
But haven't been able to find much more about this voyage yet.

In the 1861 England Census Michael is listed as a retired plumber living at No. 2 Edwy Parade in Kingsholm, Gloucester with his wife Gwenllian and son Thomas. And Ellen was living with her sister Mary Ann Wellington (and her family) in South Hamlet, Gloucester.

Thanks so much for sharing this - I hadn't seen these Welsh newspaper archives before - I might be able to find some information here about the family! Appreciate it!

Jane DONAGUE's brother and sister- in- law were on the same voyage to Australia in 1865
So all travelling together.
It seems, by the original passenger list to US, that William was not with the rest of the family on that trip.

Do you know where and when he married?

Perhaps knowing his movements might help with tracking others of the family including Jane

Hi Sue,

Thanks so much for replying to me, sorry it has taken me to long to get back to you!

William married Louisa Little, according to his death certificate they married about 1864 in England but I haven't found the exact record yet. But you're right he was on the 'Napier' in 1865 with his wife and sister Jane to Australia. I think I might have found William in the 1851 Census as an apprentice to chemist/druggist John Davies Treharne in Carmarthen but he is listed as a labourer when he emigrates in 1865, so not 100% sure it's him, haven't found him in the 1861 Census so not sure about where he was at the time of the 'Eagle' voyage. I'm still looking though so can update if I find him.

Thanks again
