Elizabeth Inkster 1835-1918 Scotland
« on: Thursday 21 September 23 17:48 BST (UK) »
Hi fabulous photo restorers

Please bring out the detail in this portrait (or do you think its moody detail was intended?)

It was taken in Edinburgh, Scotland of a woman who originated in Shetland. She lived 1835-1918.

The back of the photo says: Grandma Inkster, This picture was posed for a display in Robt. Forbes Photograph Studio in Edinburgh.

I look forward to your magic. :)

How lovely to see this photo of Elizabeth (nee Williamson) !

Her husband was the son of my GG Grandfather John Inkster (from his first marriage)

Thank you for posting it RedMystic - and thanks from me too to those who have expended time and skills to restore it.

A small one from me on my laptop. I've slightly changed the tint.

I'm in the middle of some tree pruning before the gales arrive so I will  do a little more if I get time.

Good morning all and thank you very much RJ137, jmagarac for the clean-ups.  They are certainly great improvements! Thanks again. :)

Tickettyboo, guess what I found a few weeks ago among my husband's family photo albums?! A photo of this woman's husband's grandfather, John Inkster (1800-1880)!  :o Is that who you're referencing? The old photo is a BEAUTY! (You may have it, but it is new to me. I suspect it was taken about 1870ish, given the photographer, who was also a Shetland man.) It gave me goosebumps, and I love it with its little imperfections so haven't posted it on RootsChat for cleanup. I would be delighted to share it with you if you want to send me an email address by private message.

Oh that is a lovely offer and yes please! I would very much like to have the image, though I did think Elizabeth married John's son, not his grandson?
( so easy to get all these Inksters mixed up, they used quite a small pool of first names!)
Have sent you a PM.
