It is a really nice day today, not hot but a nice sunny day, a few of these days will  suit me just fine, had enough rain.

Hope everyone is feeling better than they did last week and they have reasonable weather where they are, all those celebrating I hope you had an enjoyable time.

Yes a big Whoops,  but I don't want it to be October!!.,

It is really hot in the front of the house,  just been out to do some tidying upon the front garden   and the sun is full on, not complaining.

Thank  you Milliepede

Well done LM for starting another week! What would we do without you!
It has been a lovely day here today too… can’t believe I’m still wearing shorts & T shirt at end of September…
Monday morning always starts off with an hours Pilates sets me up for the day and I’m full of good intentions when I get home 😂😂….
I picked the last of our mega sized tomatoes and made two tubs of pasta sauce, so nice to have homemade stuff… I used one lot with some left over chicken and it was delicious.
My two grandsons ran in the Ealing mini mile on Saturday, weather was just right, eldest came 10 th out of 160+ in 6m42s so he was chuffed… the youngest one had a stitch half way round so his finishing place was somewhere in the 50’s out of 220+ children still not bad but he was disappointed 😢.
My SiL ran the half marathon in 1hr 31m so pretty good. Got to persuade my daughter to enter next year I think!
Eldest off today for a weeks trip up to Condover Hall in Shropshire, very excited about being away with the whole of yr 6! They’re taking part in 5 activities a day.. should wear them all out nicely … glad I’m not one of the staff members going with 90+ 10/11 yr olds… looking fwd to hearing all about it in a couple of weeks time.
Got to make the most of tomorrow before we get deluged with rain on Wednesday..

Have a good week everyone.

I used to love going to The Lake District with Year 6 in their last term,so May time.
The Youth Hostel at Boot ,Eskdale.
Such fun , The  Headteacher ,two teachers in the Juniors ,a volunteer and me, really from the Infants.

We visited Muncaster Castle, on one occasion we were walking to the house and an elderly chap walked past us, his little dog was not on a lead despite big signs saying dogs must  be on leads at all times.
One lad, very politely said “ excuse me sir ,but dogs must be on leads at all times” “ Thank you ,young man, I shall bear that in mind”.

Later in the castle  the same lad asked “ Who lives here.”
The guide said “ Lord Muncaster, you may have seen him ,he has just gone for  a walk with his little terrier dog” ——- 🤭

Well after a cool damp start a nice day .
Finished off a small ham joint we had yesterday , well a bit left ,might do a chicken mushroom and ham pie for tomorrow.

Git rid of all the prunings from my attack on the Dogwood ,garden waste bin this week so it will all be gone soon.
I love the variegated  leaves ,the white edges.
It was out of control though .

Moved a clump of Spiraea to a bare spot where my hollyhock, newly purchased ,had rust, so is in isolation.
I am wiping the leaves with witch hazel ,touch wood the new leaves have no signs yet.

Well, very late now ,so night night.
Viktoria.

Morning all
Just catching up. Am hoping to head outside and cut the grass before storm Agnes hits or doesn’t. It’s hard to tell from the weather charts as to how or if we’ll get wet! I’d guess it’ll tip it down at 3pm onwards when I’m doing the school pick up!

After 2 quite nice days it is blowy but looks like rain,  not sure if Agnes will affect us, hope not but I do feel very sorry for those who have already been affected.

We took mother to the !ake District a few months before she died,  really a nice  and interesting place, not been back since, don't think we will  now.

Viktoria,  do like the story of Lord Muncaster, you always have interesting  stories, you have lead an interesting life.

Thank you Cawl, I am sure if it wasn't me starting  a new week someone else would

Not a lot going  on, had Covid jab ,  flu due on Saturday , that will be me done and dusted

Where  is everyone this week?

Today  the first time since my accident I returned to shop at the supermarket  I was returning from in March, my husband was going to meet ex colleagues so I took a bus out of town and he collected  myself and my neighbour on return,  I could not believe the change in the shop after 6 months, I was also able to collect £60    on my rewards card, I spent a fortune stocking up on things I used to buy from this particular supermarket,  I could almost call  it an exciting  time, I am obviously easily pleased.

Hope all is well with everyone, has "agnes" reached anyone yet?

Well done LM for going back to that supermarket.

I’m in Switzerland! I arrived in Basel yesterday evening having stayed overnight in Liverpool so I could get the 6:43 down to London, then Eurostar to Paris at 11:30 and the TGV to Basel at 16:30. I was fast asleep before 10 pm having eaten a large Ham and Pineapple flat roll, it was about 8 inches  long and delicious.

This morning had a lovely breakfast and set off to Valbella where I’m staying. Lovely room, view of a small lake and good food. It’s warmer than at home and I was hot in a thin long sleeved t shirt. Once the sun went in, it was a bit chilly.

I hope I sleep well tonight but I feel rather stiff and sore after manhandling my big Walker, hold-all and rucksack off and on trains. Our assistance service and facilities for the disabled on the railways are far superior to the systems I met yesterday and today.
