James Watson b. 1802 Cupar Fife - Occupation Question
« on: Monday 25 September 23 19:25 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I'm trying to figure out what James Watson's occupation is on the 1841 Census.  It is just listed as H. L. W. J.

Does anyone know what that might mean?

Hand loom weaver journeyman, or possibly hand loom weaver jute.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Thank you!  His brother's occupation is also alluding me.  Do you know what a White S. would be?
