There is a death registered St James September quarter 1848 for a Ferdinand Jean Le Bas age 28

He would be a little young to marry in 1836 per haps the age is incorrect

Hi Trish1120 and rosie99,

Thanks to both for your replies

Trish 1120
Whilst I realise that Lovell would probably be working at the age of 15 I would like, if possible to find him in the 1861 census so I could see what surname he was using in 1861. He is recorded at birth, baptism and 1851 census with the surname Le Bas, but in the passenger list of 1869 and his immigration to America in 1869 record him as Lovell Audley. Hence my desire to find him if possible in the 1861 census.

Rosie99
I do not have a  copy of Lovell's birth certificate but I believe his baptism record indicates that he was Illigitimate. I have attached a copy of his baptism record.

I do not have the death of Ferdinand Eugene Le Bas. At the moment I am assuming it was before 1851 as in the 1851 census his wife Ann Frances Le Bas is recorded as being a widow ( In the 1851 census she is recorded as Fanny Le Bars !!

William Audley and  Ann Frances Le Bas (known as Fanny) and birth name Ford had 5 children as follows:
Triplets
Q4 1849 Female Audley Mother Ford St Pancras 1 363
Q4 1849 Jane Audley Mother Ford St Pancras 1 363 and
Q4 1849 Male Audley Mother Ford St Pancras 1 363
all 3 died in  Q4 1849

Twins
Q1 1852 Georgina Emily Audley Mother Ford St Pancras 1b 28 and
Q1 1852 Mary Fanny Audley Mother Ford St Pancras 1b 28
Georgian died aged 2 in Q4 1853 and was buried at Hackney Victoria Park Cemetery.

From the lead you have given me I now know that Lovell Audley emigrated to America  in 1869 and died in 1927.
I have yet to identify what happened to Mary Fanny Audley who was born in Q1 1852.

I have also no evidence that William Audley ever married Anne Frances (Fanny) Le Bas born Ford but 5 of their six children had their birth registered as Audley and the other one the first as Lebas

Hi amondg

Thanks for your replies as a first step I have been trying to identify what happened to the Children of William Audley and ann Frances (Fanny) Le bas.

Thanks for the information about the children of Eugene Ferdinand  Le Bas and Ann Frances Ford.
One thing that is confusing me is that in the 1851 census Living in the same house as Fanny Le bas and William Audley is a daughter Virginia Le Bas aged 15, which does not seem to fit in with your information.

If you do look at the 1851 census please be aware that Ann Frances Le Bas is recorded as Fanny Le Bars and William Audley as W Ludley a visitor

1841 - I suspect Eugenia is Virginia, either renamed or name misheard by the enumerator

Ann Frances Lebas    28
Eugenia Fanny Lebas   5
Ferdinand Lebas           2
William Henry Lebas     7 Mo
