St Wilfrid, Mobberley - grave yard?
« on: Tuesday 26 September 23 17:49 BST (UK) »
Any ideas as to where I might have sight of a plan of the above with grave numbers?

I seem to be collecting grave numbers but have no way of relating them on the ground.

Only a thought - have you contacted the church?
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Thanks. I’ll take it as a “no” then. I’m away for a week or so, so I’ll follow it up when I get back.

Or you could try contacting this group - based in Mobberley!

https://www.fhsc.org.uk/new-mobberley-overview.html

They offer a download of MI's for St Wilfrid, Mobberley with St John, Knutsford for £3.00 which includes an index and photographs.

Yes, I’ve seen that - I thought that the, now defunct, NCFHS was the society which did the survey work; it certainly is on Ancestry; they give grave numbers but not transcripts, and I’m not sure whether the download covers anything different.

One day I might get round to joining the FHSC but, so far, I’ve done OK without them!

Just trying to avoid having to search the whole church-yard to find a grave which might not have a stone.
