San Francisco Directories.  I view the ones mark “IA”.

Perhaps if we narrow down his residence c1861, we might be able to find the local church.  If they were Catholic, you might be able to eventually find a baptismal record.

I believe Old St. Mary’s Church was up the hill from his known residences. I don’t know when it was erected.

Added: Thomas’ residences were quite far from the church.  There is an old church in North Beach; I’ll check the date it was erected.

No, Sts. Peter & Paul Church was opened in 1924.  Perhaps there were other churches that the family could have attended if they didn’t attend St. Mary’s on California Street.

Apologies, I didn’t attach his details.  (As usual, I had a lot of tabs open and skipped this detail.)

Thomas Carr, born 1833, County Galway, Ireland. Died 1871.
Buried in Calvary Cemetery, reinterred in Holy Cross in 1940 (although the date seems quite late for the second interment).

It appears that they had a son, Thomas Peter, who was born in 1864 and died in 1868.  Perhaps you already knew about him.

I see that Delia had family in Alameda.  I’m actually more familiar with Alameda than San Francisco so if you have any questions about Alameda, I may be able to answer them.

Yes, Delia had a brother, Michael Carr, (Uncle Mike) who I met when I was young.  He lived in Alameda with his Aunt's family until he passed away in his 90s. He never married nor had children.
