It looks like Henry Charles Augustus Aynge bt1824  was born in St Peters Port Guernsey and his father was Lieutenant George Aynge in Royal Artillery and  Conductor of Stores
He married in !841 in city of London to Mary Ann Scott It appears however that he was prevously married to Mary Julianna in Quebec Canada 1816
George father was said to be George  Master Gunner at Dartmouth Castle
Anyone tell me where to look for very old army records Thanks Jen

There are many items about George Augustus AYNGE in the newspapers over the years.

Insolvent in 1832 "policeman No. 60 of the K division" of 16 Paradise Row, Bethnal Green.

In 1836 he is Quarter Master Sergeant Spanish Dept, British Marine Artillery (can't quite read this one properly)

Many about his time in the police force in the Isle of Ely, he seems to have retired due to ill health in Nov 1851 after 9 years service.

In 1852 he is described as a Schoolmaster in Whittlesey, "formerly an officer on the staff of the British Ordnance corps and subsequently of the Spanish Legion Artillery" (he has a flute made from the arm bone of one of his legion!)

In Jan 1856 his sister Isabella is married and he is noted as "field train RA, camp before Sebastopol".

In Oct 1856 he returns to Whittlesey and there is an account of the "trophies" he has brought home from the Crimean war.

Happy to copy articles if you'd like them and don't have access.

I can't see anything about a divorce from the first marriage to Mary Juliana (Julia) nee JONES. She is definitely alive after his 2nd marriage to Mary Ann SCOTT (where he says he is a bachelor).  :-\

Julia AYNGE:
1841 census in Clerkenwell:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MQVX-XC6

1851 (with son Edward) in Lambeth
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:SGTZ-CYC

1861 in All Hallows (with daughter Isabella)
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q2ML-QGZT

She dies in 1863:
Julia AYNGE  Mar qtr 1863 Shoreditch (1c/111) aged 64
