Benjamin Robert Henry Wragg died 1953, in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, age 80/81. He was buried in an unmarked grave in Lutwyche Cemetery, Kedron.

Benjamin was born in London, 1872, son of Robert Wragg & Frances Chappell or Chilcott. He joined the Metropolitan Police. He married Laura Eliza Harris, 1898 & had at least 4 children. Don't know what happened to him after 1921 census. I know all about his family history up until then.

 What I would like to know is what happened to him after 1921 & how he ended up in Australia in an unmarked grave.

Children

Violet Maude 1899 married Frederick William Klagge 1926.  Father Benjamin is shown as a sailor.  There is a 1939 entry for them.  Violet's 1899 baptism shows Benjamin as a driver.  Violet died 1998 Cheshire

Lilian Laura 1901 married Ernest Victor Nichols 1924 - father Sidney - policeman. Lilian died 1981 Bedfordshire 

Rita Emily 1903 married Albert E Daniels 1924 - There is a 1939 entry for them.  She died 1991 Essex

A tree on Ancestry shows a number of Australian directory & ER entries but I don't have a WW sub.  Viewing them may show who he was living with.

Neither Benjamin or Laura appear to be on the 1939 register.  Laura Eliza Wrigg & Sidney Benjamin Wragg appear on a 1937 ER entry for Kensington

None of the 4 children appear to have emigrated

Sidney Benjamin Wragg died 1967 - administration granted to his sister - Lilian Laura Nichols

Benjamin's absence from the 1937 ER entry could possibly suggest he had deserted the family.  He was 65 by then so although not impossible - I doubt he was at sea when the ER entry was taken

Perhaps obtaining a copy of his death cert may at least show who reported his death.  Looking at the FindaGrave entry - his birthyear was known.
