Dudley Burial
« on: Saturday 30 September 23 11:16 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone, I have a relative, Samuel Braznall, who died in 1838 (on 19th January, he was recorded as being buried on 25th January).

I can see the record but cannot find where the burial was (the church name) so I can see if there is a gravestone. I have scrolled through the papers before and there are a bunch of much later chruch newsletters for St Margaret of Antioch but the church was only built in 1907.

Any help would be great,

thanks, Luke

I'm not really sure, but I think it would be St Thomas as this was the parochial church, (though it could also be St Edmund, which was a "Chapel of Ease" to St Thomas at this time) :

There are a couple of early Newspaper articles.

Birmingham Journal : Saturday 4 August 1849 (it's quite a long article, so this is just a 'snippet', but it's just about his debts and Choice of Assignees etc)

WHEREAS as Petition of SAMUEL BRAZNALL

formerly of Porter's Field, Dudley in the County of Worcester, Carter, and now for one year and nine months last past residing in Birmingham Street, Dudley, aforesaid, Carter, Grocer and Shopkeeper, and Insolvent Debtor.

If you use

GOOGLE BOOKS and search for Samuel Braznall - this article and a couple of others are there.
