Parents for Martha Chapman 1780s
« on: Monday 02 October 23 19:29 BST (UK) »
Hi Rootschat community,
I'm looking for someone to take a look to see if they can help me find parents for my brick wall ancestor Martha Chapman. Martha was born 1780-1790 and married Thomas Trinder (1787-1852) in St James Piccadilly in 1809. They had George Richard Trinder (1812-1861), Thomas Trinder (1814-1851), John Thomas Trinder (1823-1883) and Charles Trinder (1825-1859). For a long time I assumed that the Lambeth 1823 death record was hers, but her last son was born in 1825, so I'm rather confused.

Thanks a lot,

FG

She is 26 when she had George 1812 - records lying in Hospital Holborn

She is 28 when she had Thomas 1814

Haven't found John Thomas as yet

She was 39 when she had Charles 1825

Husband Thomas was a brushmaker.

Yes, that's them.  I asked about Thomas a year or so ago rootschat. Here's a link:

After Martha died, he cohabited with Frances Watson and had 3 children with her.

On her marriage Martha signs her name with a confident hand
Can you make out the names of the witnesses?
Susanna Riley?   and     Mary Ann? Harman?

Have you looked at this baptism?   …..

Susanna Ridley/Riley and Mary Ann Hannam. The latter is Thomas Trinder's sister. That baptism is possible, but we still don't have a 'missing link'. Have you found some kind of death record?
