Christian Name ? of 18th Manchester Regt on Roll of Honour
« on: Thursday 05 October 23 15:35 BST (UK) »
The Roll just says J Taylor 18th Manchester Enlisted July 1915 Hospitalization 1917  till Discharged in 1918  and returned to his Wife at 16 Teak Street Beswick Manchester
The Relatives I think have Hi jacked this Record
of their correct Relative Record a King's Royal Rifles who was not Pensioned/ Discharged until November 1915
If anyone can find Christian Name of J in the Manchester Regt living at 16 Teak St will solve this for sure.

This was the wrong Soldier hijacked by the Family Relatives in my Opinion of a Soldier not the Ancestor of James Taylor of KRR

Free search 1921 census
Address search for Teak Street, Beswick, North Manchester, Prestwich only has odd numbers.
Teak Street, South Manchester, Chorlton has a number 16  in case it helps.
Ada Taylor 1890 Ancoats, Lancashire
Joseph Taylor 1887 New Mills, Derbyshire
Joseph Samuel Taylor 1919 Ancoats, Lancashire
schedule 163
Just putting in Taylor/Manchester/Teak street only brings up the 3 names.

Brilliant Comberton so quick!
You proved as I thought the Family of Rflm 1625 James Taylor of Kings Royal Rifles Discharged 1 November 1915 on Disability they had him Volunteering in July 1915 to go back to Flanders with the 18th Manchester Regt because this Roll gave the Teak address that a Family member remembered the Taylors lived there. So they felt J Taylor was James but Comberton proof found 1921 Census was Joseph and Ada Taylor and Son Joseph Samuel born 1919 that enabled me to find Ada was Ada Meaden who married September Quarter 1915 Joseph Taylor
That enabled me to trace Pte 31330 Joseph Taylor of 18th Manchester Regt who went on Silver War Badge 1918 per the Roll information and clearly not James
Cheers
