Thomas Brown age 39 Shoemaker, Ann and numerous children
I have census details up to 1902

I would like to find Thomas before he married Ann. Can anyone find him in 1851 & 1861 please?

There are lots of Thomas Browns in Leeds for 1851 and 1861. Do you have any other information, eg parents' names, siblings. Anything to narrow down the search a little!

I don't have any other information unfortunately that's why I am struggling. All census records from 1871 show him born Manchester born about 1842 and shoemaker

There is a Thos Brown at 1861 3377 /101/3 but he is born Ireland.he is living in Leeds and is a shoe maker.
The marriage took Place either in a registry office or registrar attended. It looks as though you need to purchase the marriage certificate to see if there is a father’s name and occupation.
