The strange thing is that the chromosome browser is still working.

It's  all working  perfectly for me ( I am in Australia).  I haven't had that message at all, or any errors and glitches.
I  can view all my matches and no glitches at all-  Everything  working as per normal.
I  don't  know if it was ok earlier  today as I've only just  logged into Myheritage about half hour ago tonight , but it was working as normal over  the weekend too for me.

Kind regards

Everything seems fine for me.

What I do have is this message about my Ethnicity estimates:

Your ethnicity results are currently being generated. Please check back here tomorrow to see the updated results

I don't usually look at those though!

Just checked my ethnicity ,mine is  the same with that message.
I wouldn't have noticed that either had you not  just mentioned it.

My Heritage closed down unexpectedly while I was viewing DNA matches on Saturday. It was the first time I remember, and generated an error message which told me to email security support. Their reply included the sentence

“What you have encountered is a temporary issue that should be resolved within the next 24 hours. We ask you kindly to please try again tomorrow.”

In fact the problem did resolve itself in a couple of hours, and I logged in again normally, but they must be having system-wide difficulties.

I've  just  been reading some posts on reddit   about it , where the posters  reckon it may have something to do with the free  DNA upload with the  free unlock that happened last week. They reckon  it  may be because  everyone  who uploaded  last week are trying to access their results . Ie there may be a lot of traffic to their  servers, and it's an artificial cap or something to manage the traffic.

It's  all  just pure speculation of course from the posters on reddit.

It's  been perfectly working  for me up until just  now.
Kind regards

Thank you for the replies. There have also been comments about this problem on Trustpilot and UpdownRadar in recent days.

I managed to get a screenshot of my recent DNA matches, I am going to see if that changes at all given the current situation.

I was asking myself if I was going to renew as I have been a subscriber for only 5 months and I am managing 4 accounts.  These were all DNA uploads from Ancestry.  Fortunately, I joined on what is now an old credit card so they cannot charge me again unless I decide to renew - looking unlikely at this stage.

I have found a lot of European matches in MH due to my German heritage. I have not really solved anything with those, but I have had some other useful matches.

I find the name searching amongst the DNA matches a bit hopeless.  Try searching for a common Christian name that is also a surname! Examples would be James or Thomas. It pulls up user names as well as any Christian names.

I also had some messages from matches that I noticed when I logged on.  Maybe because I had already read them I did not receive any email notification.  I have sent a really important message recently on behalf of an adoptee.  No way of knowing if it has been read.

I hope people will continue to post about this error message.
