On the 1939 register Minnie Beatrice gives her date of birth as 9 Jan 1886
Her  birth was registered in March qtr 1887.
Just thought I'd point it out.

Ooo that's interesting, thanks - her birth seems a bit of a mystery with o father then her mother Emily just simply disappears - no death record or on any census

Thanks, I'll do that - I've tried finding her mum Emily Warner of the GRO death record but nothing came up.

I don't really know what else I can try for Emily Warner 1855 Assington, anybody any ideas ?

I've searched on the census's, gro death record, marriage records & still nothing

I'm baffled with Emily but this is interesting.
89 Central Road is where Minnie B was in 1901, bless her.

22nd from the bottom of the list.

Would you be classed as an ‘inmate’ if you were working at a children’s home in the laundry ?

Just a bit of "what if "
Both Minnie's grandparents had died by 1901, she was with them in 1891 and there is no sign of her Mum Emily.
Remember the census only accounts for 1 night every 10 years. Emily could easily have been missed if her life had taken a turn for the worse.
Has she died, there's no matching death age. Could Minnie have had no help from her Aunts and Uncles.
There must be a good reason why she is in a home run by an Irish woman,,it seems to be a Magdalene laundry . We know now that horrific things happened at some of those.
There are no Warner births with no mmn registered in Croydon for 1900 and 1901 . Of course a child might have been stillborn.
It's not known how early the scandal of children born to these unmarried mothers began, but it's an awful thought that it may have happened to Minnie. They were never registered but given away for adoption.
I suppose you could cross check births with the names of the other young women there and see what you find.
At least Minnie got out and hopefully had a good life .
There are a couple of deaths with matching ages for  an Emily Warner, but they would need checking out .

As I say it's just a what if.
