Request Marriage cert. Kate and John Anderson Limerick
« on: Tuesday 10 October 23 13:52 BST (UK) »
Hello

In the subject heading of this post I have requested a marriage certificate for Kate and John Anderson but because of limited space I also need help on finding out more information on the Anderson family of Limerick and where they originally came from as detailed in my paragraphs below.

I have a Kate and John Anderson (my 3 X Great Grandparents) signed as witnesses as parents of Sarah Anderson and Robert Lloyds ( my Great Great Grandparents) marriage certificate.  Married in St Michael's Church, Limerick on 13th September 1887.

Kate, John occupation Caretaker,  and Sarah Anderson lived at 57 Colooney Street Limerick in 1887  as noted on Sarah Andersons marriage certificate  to Robert Lloyd.  Looking to find out more about this family.

Well I would welcome help in finding more about the Anderson family in Limerick and anything on them really.  Did they move to Limerick from somewhere else ?  What was Kate's maiden name and her date and place of birth ?

I would like some help in finding details of Kate and John Anderson's marriage certificate and would welcome a photocopy of it if possible.

I would like to know more about John Andersons life in Limerick are there any censuses to go on which gives his details on so to find out more about him and where in 1887 was he a caretaker at what type of company.

I appreciate anyone taking their time to read this post and thank you if your able to help by answering any of the questions or can give me any information on the Anderson family.

Thanks
Elizlloyd

When and where was Sarah born? I see that she was a minor at the time of her marriage so born sometime after 13 September 1866:

Is there anything to confirm that the witness Kate Anderson was John's wife/Sarah's mother ?

One to keep in mind? although the witnesses are not necessarily Sarah's parents.
William Anderson born 1878 in Limerick with parents John Anderson & Catherine Regan

Do you have Sarah in census records where her birthplace is listed as Limerick?

Marriage of a John Anderson, Colooney St. in 1862-

Possibly the same Ada Anderson?

Daughter Ada's marriage lists father as land steward-

Another Ada from same family (daughter of Eva)-

Famiyl members found in 1901 and 1911 census.

Edited as aghadowey posted much the same as I was about to, just leaving the census link

Hello thank you for replying back and yes this is Sarah Anderson and Robert Lloyds marriage record image in your link in your message to me, this is all I have to go on and have a copy in my records

Sarah Anderson's date of birth and place of birth I don't have anything only this marriage record to go on.

Looking at the witnesses signing it John and Kate Anderson I thought they were Sarah Andersons parents,  which could be wrong, I would welcome help in finding out if this correct or not

Thanks

Elizlloyd

If Sarah is your ancestor then it is surprising you have not found her in any further records. Did she stay in Ireland or move to another country?

16 Taff Street Treherbert.
Robert Lloyd my great Grandfather died 1906 outside the Railway Bar Hotel, Station Street, Treherbert he was married to Sarah Lloyd nee Anderson had 5 children John, George, Robert (my Grandfather), Florence, and Elsie. as detailed in 1901 Welsh Census and again in 1911 Welsh Census his wife Sarah and children still living at this address.
Is there a more exact place of birth for Sarah than 'Ireland?'

Another thread says Sarah died in 1925 so should be listed in 1911 and 1921 census records.

Could Kate Anderson be Sarah’s sister ?

There is this 1862 marriage St Michael Limerick for a

his address Colooney Street, he made his mark
