Tullyraine, Banbridge Co. Down Census
« on: Wednesday 11 October 23 10:00 BST (UK) »
I was wondering if someone could help. I have quite a recent marriage certificate 1936 for a couple William Ernest Wilson Blacksmith married to a Susan Patterson abt 1908, daughter of David Patterson from Whitecross area Co. Armagh.  William Ernest was a blacksmith but his father Robert Wilson was a farmer. The address at time of marriage was Tullyraine Banbridge, but I am not finding the father Robert Wilson on the census and I am a bit clueless of the area.
Any help appreciated.
Kind Regards

Tullyraine is the groom's address in 1936 but may not be where he was born or raised.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Was there a Wilson witness on the marriage.

Belfast Telegraph
Is he the William Ernest Wilson died 16 Oct 1977, husband of the late Susan, regretted by his brother and daughters, buried in Kingsmill Presbyterian Churchyard, Whitecross.

Belfast Newsletter
Could this be his brother?
There is a death on 21 Dec 1977 to same  church and churchyard of a David Wilson son of the late Robert and Sarah Jane, Tullyear Banbridge regretted by his nieces, cousins

If William, and  his brother from Tullyear, were buried in Whitecross, then William Ernest could have married a woman from "back home."  Maybe ??

As for clueless regarding locations. Google maps helps me a lot. I am a long way from the area myself and usually clueless as well.

some of those locations on Google maps:

Thank you Sinann, yes, that would be them as the marriage was in the same church. Yes, this area I know well and familiar to me. I am trying to find their children’s names. So that will be by next step.
Thanks so much for your help everyone.
