Brazenall of Dudley
« on: Wednesday 11 October 23 15:35 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for the birth of Eliza Brazenall b in Dudley. She married James Kendrick in Dudley in 1872
and died in Dudley 1916. The clues I have from her marriage her father was Joseph Brazenall, on her death it says her birth was abt 1843 [which corresponds with later census]. On the 1851 census she is living with family her mother and Grandparents her mother is also Eliza and her Grandparents are John and Mary Langstone. Mary was previously married to a Mr Millar and this is Eliza [the mother] maiden name. I have linked an Eliza Millar with a Joseph  Brazenall, however he died in 1841 before Eliza is claiming to have been born. I did obtain a birth certificate but sadly Eliza was the daughter of a single woman Mary Brazenall and she died soon afterwards. I know Eliza had brothers William and Samuel were also mentioned on the 1851 census. So,  I'm stuck for a birth record for Eliza. All help much appreciated thank you in advance x

Thank you for your prompt response. The only one showing for this year is the one I have already and I found a death for this one. I am thinking she was born closer to Josephs death as he is the only Joseph I have found who could fit x

Have either Samuel or William been found in 1841?  I can’t see anything obvious at the moment

In which case, Eliza's birth was not registered under the surname of Brazenall - it wasn't compulsory until 1874  :-\ :-\

I assume that you have searched for possible baptisms?
