Arrived in France 8/2/17 & moved to Sailly Sur La Lys
just S.W. of Armentieres & went into the trenches on the 15th.
Relieved on the 22nd. - 25th. & went into reserve & back in
the trenches on 3/3/17.
On the 9th. they were raided by a small party of Germans with 1 man wounded.
A curious observation is that up to this point there were more men (3) wounded
by self inflicted wounds than by enemy action.
The same day they marched to Fleurbaix S. of Armentieres.,
On the 22/3/17 they were raided again but they were driven off.
By May they were operating a bit further South of Armentieres in the Aubers region
at Cordonnerie.
On 26/5/17 they raided the German front line with no casualties.
1/6/17 in billets in Armentieres.
Normal trench routine up until the 29th. July when the Btn. launched a large raid on the enemy
trenches.
Normal trench routine up until 20/9/17 when they march to Signey lez Aire S.W. of Armentieres.
In training up until 23/10/17 & entrained for Boesinghe.
25/10/17 involved in a major operation at Stadenreef Belgium N.E. of Ypres.
1/11/17 at Proven on the Belgium/France border.
9/11/17 entrained for Bonningues-les-Calais on the French coast.
In training until 10/12/17 & embussed for Proven & marched to Boesinghe.

The battle they were involved in Oct. 1917 (Passchendaele)
makes for grim reading.
