May whitmee 1896-1992

Hello,I am looking for information on my great auntie May whitmee born I believe in 1896 in Leicester to Joseph Henry wells 1876-1937,could you please tell me if may ever married and had children,I believe May passed away in 1992,thank you for any help anyone can give me,kind regards Dean

The birth registration for May Whitmee in March quarter 1896 in Wellingborough RD shows no mother's maiden name.

The only marriage entry I can see is in March quarter 1940 in Northampton RD - BUT that entry is for May F. Whitmee and the groom is said to be Walter P Mathews.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!

She married John Harris 1915 registered Northampton

1901 and 1911 with her grandparents Samuel and Sarah Whitmer in Rushden, Northamptonshire

1939 there is a Sarah Whitmer/Whitmee DOB 6 April 1856 living with them


EDITED to correct

Sarah Whitmee is 92 years old this is her grandmother.

So you are saying that Joseph Henry Wells was the Father of May?

Is this proven by DNA or other info ie naming him as her Father on her M/C ?

Sarah Elizabeth also bapt a Daug Elsie Lynes Whitmee 03 May 1900.
Address 121 Cromwell Road same as the 1901 Census.

Thank you all for this very interesting information,I believe Joseph Henry wells and Sarah whitmee were married,I believe Joseph Henry had Joseph Henry whitmee living with him,as well as May whitmee,through family talk it is always believed that Joseph Henry and May where Joseph Henry wells children,he then went onto marry Agnes Smith and these children lived with them,kind regards

There is a Joseph Henry Wells on the same page as Agnes Jane Smith June quarter 1905 reg. Leicester.

Is this the one?

He wrote married 6 years 4 children 4 still living.

There is a Joseph Henry Whitmee reg 1902 Leicester illegitimate  CORRECTED

Get a copy of the birth certificate and find out. June quarter 1902 Vol. 07A page 227 registered Leicester.
