Since Joseph Henry Wells and Agnes Jane Smith  married 1905  the son John Henry Whitwell Wells age 8
could very well be John Henry Whitmee

Sarah Elizabeth 31 married  Lloyd Gurney Bradshaw 32 - shoe riveter on 24 July 1909

His father  John - Baker
Her father Samuel - Hand Hewer.

Her daughter Elsie Lines married ?Watkinson  you can find her 1921 with her mother Sarah Elizabeth Bradshaw 42.
Elsie has 3 children one of whom is Chrisandria.*

1921 Sarah' husband Lloyd Gurney Bradshaw (as L G Bradshaw) age 46 shoe riveter is an inmate in the mental hospital.

Sarah Elizabeth Bradshaw died 27 August 1950 of 131 Cromwell Road. probate to **Chrisandria Elizabeth Denton wife of Gordon Walter Charles Denton and James Samuel Harris - Carriage Builder.

James Samuel Harris is probably the son of her daughter May (1896)who married John Harris 1915

Hello amondg, yes Joseph Henry wells married Agnes Jane smith,so I am guessing that because it says illegitimate does that mean that Joseph Henry senior probably is not the father of Joseph Henry junior and May,could the junior have had his name changed from John Henry to Joseph Henry to try to hide the illegitimacy from outsiders,it is also interesting how many different variations of the name whitmee show up on different documents.

Thank you so much for your last post amondg,I think reading all this makes things much clearer,Joseph Henry senior must have met Sarah, who had 3 children by this time,he took 2 of them on,Joseph/John and May,but then he met Agnes Jane and ultimately started a family with her,he remained with Agnes until his death

The child was registered as Joseph Henry Whitmee 1902 my typing error I have corrected it.

No name change.

I don't see that John Henry Wells ever took in May as she is always with her grandparents. 1901 and 1911, by 1921 she is married and 1939 her grandmother Sarah age 92 is living with her.

Elsie Lynes Whitmee is also with her grandparents 1901 and 1911.
