Gorlyton (???), Norfolk 1704 marriage - Sam'l Killett

Hi all,

I have found a marriage for Samuel Killett to a Elizabeth Turner in 1704 in Caistor next by sea.

It says that Samuel is from the parish of "Gorlyton" as per the attached screenshot.

I am unable to locate this parish and I wonder if anyone is able to help. It looks clearly written.

Gorleston (on sea) is about 8 miles south of Caister on Sea  according to Google maps.

I think the letters that look like 'Ly' in the middle of the word, are actually 'les', with part of this scribe's 'backwards' 'e' faded almost away. They wouldn't have put what looks like a capital 'L' in the middle of a word, so it has to be something else. The 's' is quite a long one as in 'Bastwick' in the next entry under this one.
I see Samuel and Elizabeth's marriage is by licence. Have you found this? It may give some more information.
