Private baptisms are often new born children that are not expected to live.

Going back to locations in Susses, there is a Coldwaltham near Bury and a Coates aka Coates cum Burton nearby as well. Possible candidates for "Clotham" ?
Berks / Oxon: Eltham, Annetts, Wiltshire (surname not county), Hawkins, Pembroke, Partridge
Dorset / Hants: Derham, Stride, Purkiss, Sibley
Yorkshire: Pottage, Carr, Blackburn, Depledge
Sussex: Goodyer, Christopher, Trevatt
Lanark: Scott (soldier went to Jersey CI)
Jersey: Fowler, Huelin, Scott

All the possible places of baptism for Lydia seem to be in West Sussex.

Coates/Burton is a very small parish in terms of its population.

I also wondered in Clotham/Clatham might be Clapham which lies just north Ferring.  Again the population of the parish was small, but still larger than Burton. Lizzie's find looks interesting

Bury also had a very small population, but twice the size of Clapham.

I've tried looking at baptisms for Lydia in all the above parishes and not coming up with anything helptful.  Clapham PR does not seem to have any indication of the private baptism in Oct 1815.

Given that Easthampstead is very close to the border with Surrey and not far from Hampshire either, I've looked for Robert and Lydia's marriage in both of those as well as Berkshire and Sussex - so far a blank.
