Oh, me too L.M.
None of my children are Churchgoers, so I really ought to get cracking and sort out my service myself even write my own eulogy !
 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D.
I want something from the school assemblies, those funny songs the children loved.” Who out the  hump  upon the camel?

I think my lot will be pleased I have it sorted.
Viktoria.

My mother took great pleasure in planning her funeral, Viktoria.  She chose the hymns and was quite specific about the tunes used (her father and grandfather had been chapel organists and choirmasters) and she specified which of her grandchildren were to read the various bible readings.  Her oldest grandchild was supposed to play the organ, but he wasn't able to do this as he was living abroad and in the process of moving to another country.  She even wanted the retired minister to come out of retirement to take the service, which he willingly did.  Apparently they had had long and sometimes argumentative conversations on religious themes.

We are not great churchgoers, so my hymns/songs will be widely varied, but there will certainly be lots of music of all kinds.   The way things are going there won't be many people there anyway - I seem to be losing friends and older relatives all the time.

I want some jokes, and even the Ying Tong Yiddle I Poo - GoonShow song.

I would really like to conduct it all myself, but—— not possible !
Some laughter is essential I feel, and afterwards, people do reminisce , and often there is laughter then.
Ah, well, I must  make my wishes clear, or I will have to haunt people!
Viktoria.

A former colleague of mine was a very proud Yorkshireman and chose as the last piece of music at his funeral the Yorkshire anthem, "Ilkla Moor baht 'at".  We all walked out smiling!  How about "She's a lassie from Lancashire" for us Lancastrians, Viktoria?  I might have to have a bit of Our Gracie, since I'm a Rochdalian.

I haven't written my own eulogy but I have given my grandaughter my life history in  writing , must admit can't recall any humour, oh well, will be up to them.
Must admit I do like hearing  about the dear departed,  you can hear the mourners  after saying   " didn't know she could do that",  it happened only a few weeks ago at a funeral,   we discovered my friend was a bit of a poet, she was a hospital cleaner and she did a most wonderful poem about her job and how people looked down on cleaner's.

Getting very chilly today
