Thank you all for your interesting information. I will need to find who the Booth family were. Interesting that she travelled from Wigtownshire to Australia via Papua  New Guinea from such a small rural area.
I now need to try and find her marriage etc. intriguing member of my family tree

Wonder if it was anything to do with her being a teacher?  She may have originally gone in an educational capacity

Her husband may still be alive so we cannot post any info about him.  You will find his birth on freebmd in Sussex
