The above married Alice Ann Cassidy ( 1883-1968) 1 Oct 1905 in Sydney and they had 4 children: Thomas 12/3/1904, Agnes 19 Oct 1905, Edith Evelyn 1907 and Doris M. I am unable to find Thomas Farish's death?
Additionally, the daughter Doris Margaret Farish born 16 Jun 1908 in Sydney appears to have changed her surname to Peisley at her marriage in 1931 to Ernest Jacobs and I wonder why? I found both their deaths as Jacobs but was she married before?

This report of the wedding of Doris Peisley and Ernest Jacobs gives her parents as Mrs A Peisley and the late Mr Peisley of Evans Street Goulbourn. It also mentions her sister Josie and brother F PEISLEY. So did Alice remarry or is there something wrong somewhere ?

It still seems as clear as mud! Can I assume that Alice's husband, Thomas died before 1913 and then she met Mr Peisley and had the 4 children with him?
Thomas was my direct ancestor and so would his children be too but not the Peisley children.
Has anyone found a death record for Thomas or a marriage to Mr Peisley?

John PESILEY's middle name recorded on his birth certificate is actually John Beatson PESILEY. When he died the family didn't have the money to place a headstone. It was over 50 years later that a headstone was ordered and his daughters didn't have his birth certificate to cross-check the information. They incorrectly believed his middle name was Bertram as reflected on his gravestone plaque.

It's also possible that Thomas and Alice separated and she had a common law marriage to Peisley

Haven't had a reply yet from C Timmins. Yes I guess she could have had a common law relationship but seems strange that there is no death record for Thomas in any case?
