Hmm. It’s strange. I think it was never registered. So maybe when she turned 16 there was something that required a birth certificate and she didn’t have one (like employment or moving out)

Given that it is registered so late I can only get a physical copy of the certificate.  :P

I think I might’ve just found him. ???
1939, Patrick Green born 15 Apr 1876, 158 A. Plumstead High St. (Woolwich Institution) London, Farmworker.

How’d he get there?  ;D

It's a pity you didn't find this six months ago. You could have looked at the creed register on FamilySearch to see if any more info. These records are no longer available :(

That’s frustrating! Thank you for the link though. I don’t think I’ll be travelling over 4000 miles for their family centre  ;D

As you explore the Green family a bit more, you might find siblings of Patrick who emigrated, so you might look for the possibility of Patrick visiting them abroad at some point after WW1.

Thank you for the possible death, I think I ruled that out in the past but I’ll have a look again.

Neale

Out of his siblings I think only one brother and three sisters survived. Francis, Mary Ann, Margaret and Elizabeth.

Those with the mothers maiden name Dillon I found;

Mary Ann 21 Aug 1874
Patrick 15 Apr 1876
Margaret 1878 - 1881
Jane Jun 1880 - 19 Apr 1886
Margaret 1882
Catherine 1884 - 1885
Catherine 1886 - 1887
Elizabeth 1888
Martha 1890 - 1891
Francis 1892 - 1892
Francis 1894
Martha 1898 - 1899

Mary Ann died Calcart, Glasgow - 1931

Francis died Cambuslang - 1972

They may no longer be available on FS, but they should be available via whichever repository holds the original documents.

The reference points to the archives of the Woolwich Board of Guardians, which are held by the London Metropolitan Archives https://search.lma.gov.uk/scripts/mwimain.dll?logon&application=UNION_VIEW&language=144&file=[WWW_LMA]home.html
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Yes, the difficulties with such a common name.
Also, in case you didn’t notice, there was another Patrick Green born in Glasgow about a week after your man- also Roman Catholic.
