Henry Hotham

I am researching Henry Hotham, who died at Moffatt in 1894; also looking for any pictures or portraits of him, and wonder if he still has descendants living?
I believe he was born in Yorkshire in or about 1815, and was an insurance manager in Newcastle.

Have you checked him on the censuses from 1841-1891 to establish the names of his children which will enable you to find marriages etc

Scottish Death Certificates have a lot more information than English ones.

His mothers maiden name was Sutton according to the SP index but if you are looking for living descendants we are unable to help as Rootschat has a strict no living persons policy

He married Agnes Houy 1843 Edinburgh.  She died 1881 Northumberland

He was born 10.12.1809 Sheffield - parents William & Mary nee Sutton who married 27.10.1801 Carlisle Cumberland

In 1891 an Isabella Houy is in the same household.  Isabella Hotchkiss Houy aged 81 died Newcastle 1892
