WW2 Evacuated expectant mothers in Rhyl, N Wales.

Just in case this strikes a chord with anyone else who may have discovered birth details which match for their ancestor during WW2.

I have now traced a mother-to-be (from Edmonton, N.London) who gave birth in May 1941 at Carftrefle, Palace Road, Rhyl. Registration District "St. Asaph". Property located 1/2 mile inland from the coast.

A long journey and not exactly, in hindsight, totally safe from German bombing around Liverpool and Birkenhead, especially during the early part of the war(pre 1942)!

Fortunately employing google maps "Cartrefle" Rhyl comes up as an elderly residential home - although shown as permanently closed now. Possibly? there were covid difficulties during the pandemic.
