What happened to Thomas Taylor
« on: Wednesday 25 October 23 02:42 BST (UK) »
Hi Rootschatters,
I am  trying to find out whether Thomas Taylor lived past the age of 6yrs.
His parents are Arthur Richard Taylor known as  Richard Taylor and Mary Ann Gallant
Married 25th November 1827  Saint Dunstan, Stepney, Middlesex, England.

This is additional to the following thread:
https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=876125.0

Richard Taylor and Mary Ann also had Elizabeth B  Taylor 1837 as on the previous thread .
Then   Thomas  Taylor 1839     Gro Ref. Sept Qt  Shoreditch, Vol 02 Page 389  MMN Gallant.
Edward Taylor  1841    died 1842   Gro Ref for both events known
Charles Taylor  1843  Died 1845      Gro Ref for both events known.

I have been trying to find out whether Thomas reached adult hood and married.   If so did he have descendants.

Reason for asking is - l am looking for Taylor descendants for matching with DNA Results.
I am already looking into Elizabeth Byzanta Taylor's children for the same purpose.

Any  help would help me and a couple of other Auzzies.
Thanks in advance.
Essnell

I would have thought Sawyer would have been very hard work after being a Clerk, if the same person?

Thomas Taylor's GRO Full Birth Certificate should have more detail.

Hi ,  Thank you all for the replies.     All very helpful.

 The 1841 Census   Richard  aged 4yrs I didn't have .

I have found the Baptism Record and I agree with Bushlynn1746 that a Sawyer would be a big leap from Clerk.  It looks like Lawyer to me as there are a couple of other instances of a capital "S" which aren't the same as the first letter in that word.    What sort of lawyer one can only guess - more like an Articled Clerk or such. Given that Mary Ann was working too in 1851

I still have to work out Mary the 10 yr old and then go to the 1851  1841 census.

Easter does not come up on either GRO rec. or FreeBMD.
Nor do either of the following children on the list,  but "Ratley"  I have seen elsewhere as "Rattley" .

I'll keep working later as it's midnight almost here.

Thanks again Essnell.

  Hello again ,

Sorry to be back with more questions but ....
I cannot find any information on Mary Taylor as on the 1841 details, aged 10 yrs.
I have looked for her birth around 1830/1831 and found nothing.

She also does not appear to be on the 1851 listing.
Richard Taylor and Mary Ann Gallant were married on the 25th November 1827

Before posting I got side-tracked and tried again : Result is that I believe I have found her in 1851 at the same address as her Uncle, Edward Alderman Gallant, her Mother's brother.
Census 1851
 Reliance Square , Shoreditch
Enumeration Dist 8
Piece 1533
Folio  213   Page 8  Schedule 34
Hope you are able to find it  with that info.

I''m pretty sure it's her.
Thanks for your help here , Much appreciated.
Essnell.
