Caroline goes by her maiden name in 1921 census and 1939 register. This death is likely.  Do you have George 1914 BC?

Deaths Sep Q 1941
Brookes    Caroline    70    Stoke    6b   199

Added: possible that Caroline stated the number of years the marriage lasted 11..even though legally they had been married 15. Or just an error.

There is a possible chance that George may not be Levi child if the couple did not reunite after 1911.

Ref earlier post:

In 1939 he is a patient in Tamworth, Staffordshire, widower gives 1863 as birthyear

Address: Public Assistant Institution 31 Wiggintion Road, Tainworth

That can't be the Levi that I am looking for as his widow outlived him.

Regarding Florence Minnie, she'd fit as one of the four children born alive but died before 1911 census. Three more who died to find (as George was born and died in 1914) AND one child still alive but as yet not identified - would it imply the missing child is one of if not the eldest?

I noticed you'd spotted the Levi who died I 1948.(aged 84). It was recorded in Walsall same as a Levi born 1864 - only one in that area for many years before/after. Bloxwich is Walsall. If he is alive, could they have separated - thus explaining the use of her maiden name?

I would appear so, the 1939 would fit his birth reg for birthday, except 1 year out, both in 1939 state they are widowed. If they were estranged for years, widowed would be acceptable.

I had thought the key was that in "1939 he is a patient" suggesting forced separation and maybe explain why the family are no longer living by their own means BUT I would have expected them to still be shown as married.

Are you using FindMyPast to find those birth records? Ancestry, familysearch.org, freeBMD only offer George as mother's names are apparently not shown on records pre-1911

Need to register but index free to search. Gives mmn if married. Also gives ages at death
