I can't answer your question but hope this is useful. These are the areas covered by the R D. Not all are covered in 1939.

Freda is in Skelmanthorpe on the 1939 Register and Stanley too if he was born 1913.

Thanks very much for that Comberton.

Yes that's Stanley on the 1939 Register.
He was born in 1913 in Skelmanthorpe; I have looked there and Emley and Scissett, but I cannot find this marriage. Hopefully someone might be able to shed some light on this!

Thanks again for your help,
Kit

I tried the Marriage Locator by the Guild of One-name Studies (https://one-name.org/marriage-locator/), but nothing found!

So, maybe Registry Office?
Only the Marriage Certificate will tell. ;)

Hi

Upper Agbrigg is a registration area which covered several villages in the Huddersfield/Wakefield area.
If I remember Kirkburton was the main registration place but also had an office in Station Street, Huddersfield.
Skelmanthorpe was also in the area.
