Had you already looked at https://askalexander.org ?

There are multiple references to a Tom Middleton in a publication called Abracadabra including the sale of that individual's props after their death.

H, S_L, no I haven't. They are both excellent ideas.  Abracadabra was great weekly magic mag. We had a full set in our club but have only just sold the lot.  Paul
. He died in 1965.  Have you got an https:// for the references to Tom Middleton in 'Abra' ? That sounds promising because his family referred to him as 'Tommy'.

Unfortunately I don't have full access so you only get to see brief snippets of text, selecting Abra as a periodical then searching in it gave these results. The link is to page 2 of the results. Abra volume 32 mentions the sale of the props.
https://askalexander.org/search/middleton/directory/96-Abracadabra/start/10/sort/rel_desc/

To select individual periodicals go to browse at the top of the screen then from the page displaying everything that's available you select the title and when it displays there's a search option for it.

p.s. for reasons best known to those responsible if you decide you need a subscription to the site for full access then it appears they are found in the store on conjuringarts.org

Hi, very interesting website. Unfortunately, Vol 32 came out in 1961/62 whereas the Tom Middleton I'm looking for died in 1965.  That said, apparently we haven't handed the Abra's over to the buyer as yet so I'll try to check it out to be certain. Thanks again.
