Joseph Hicks,Yaxley

Folks,
Joseph and Susannah Hicks baptise several children in Yaxley from 1816 to 1832,some at St Peters and others at the independent chapel.
I now find a Joseph born 1820,baptised 1822,another Joseph born 1825 baptised 1826,normally it would be found the younger child had died and his name re-used,however i can find no record of a fitting death,and to top it off 1841 and 1851 census show birth about 1820,but nosign of  Joseph b 1825.
Did the parents forget young Joseph had already been baptised?

Did they do the same with son George?

Born 9 December 1822 bap 9 February 1823

Born 11 December 1825 bap 28 May 1826

Census seems to indicate the 1822 birth

Looking at the images of the baptisms, there isn't a Joseph in 1826, just 1823, mmn Cheney.

Did you mean George, as pointed out by amondg, although I can't see a burial for the first?

Just a thought. There is a Sophia Hicks on the 1841 census, daughter of Joseph and Susannah, born 1826.

Her burial in 1846 gives her birth as 1825.

She is the only person missing from the baptisms, and I was wondering if she was the one baptised as George.

I am not sure how you would confuse Sophia with George but both parents made a mark on the baptism register.

I think this one can be put to bed.
Joseph was baptised as follows:
1820 Spaldwick
1822 Yaxley
1826 Yaxley Independent
George baptised as follows:
1822 Spaldwick
1823 Yaxley
1825 Spaldwick
1826 Yaxley
I can find no census entry to match any of the alternate dates of birth and will leave the children as originally entered.

One question:-
 Joseph Hicks and Susannah Cheney they married in 1812 where were they from 1812 - 1816

I have found that the first child is often born/baptised in the mothers home parish but I don't see any.
