HUGO HAROLD DAVIES

Hi All, I have a problem, this info is taken from a court case in 1937, it states that Hugo left England on 20th January 1936 for New Zealand. I have gone through all the passenger list for that date but can not find his name, tried with only dates no names still no joy. What next?

What kind of court case & was it in England or NZ?

Where & when was he born - no birth on freebmd for a Hugo Harold Davies/Davis but there is a marriage in 1931 in Shropshire for a Hugo H Davies to a May A Erskine/Gundry

May A Gundry married Henry A Erskine 1924

NZ BDM site is down at present so I cannot check the age at death.

The death cert (printout) should show (if known) his length of time in Nz and names of parents to confirm.

So have we got 2 x Hugo Harold Davies living in NZ or did the same one remarry?

There is a 1934 Kelly’s entry for a Hugo Harold Davies - the Manor House Cleobury Mortimer

Alice May Gundry was b 1905 Atcham.  She swapped her christian names round on the 1931 marriage but the court reports refer to her as Alice

That’s why I want to see the death register entry for the 1991 death which will have his age.

The NZ one names his mother as Mrs F.G. Davies care of a hotel in Auckland in the WW2 ballot entries,  there is a Harold Hugo Davies baptism in Eastbourne, Sussex. Born 1907. Mother is Grace Flora
Father is Hugh Casamajor Davies
