Hannah Boag bc1854 St Pancras
« on: Saturday 28 October 23 20:59 BST (UK) »
I am trying to locate a death record for Hannah.
She was born Hannah French; married first Charles J Plume in 1876 in Pancras; second Harry W Boag in 1913 still in Pancras.
Note - Harry W Boag died in 1922 Pancras.
I have found her in the 1921 Census at 18 Gee Street, St Pancras and in the electoral rolls up to 1931 still at Gee Street. Not found in 1939 Register.
I have looked at GRO death site for exact, phonetically and similar sounding surnames and still come up blank.
Ideas please, Jackie

She's still there in 1934 and 35, although the entry's not well transcribed. No sign in 17/18 Gee St in 1936

Hannah's age is all over the place in census, 1891 Hannah Plume 38 widow born St Pancras,a lodger in her household is a Harry Boag.1901 Hannah Boag aged 47 born Clerkenwell, 1911 Hannah Boag aged 51 born Clerkenwell, 1911 Hannah Boag aged 51 born Clerkenwell, 1921 aged 59 Clerkenwell.

Probable birth:

FRENCH, HANNAH       mmn EVANS
GRO Reference: 1853  D Quarter in CLERKENWELL  Volume 01B  Page 449

Probable parents marriage (she does name George French as her father in 1913)

Marriages Jun 1853
Evans    Hannah        St Pancras    1b   193
French    George        Pancras    1b   193

.......................

In 1933 electoral register at 17, Gee Street Hannah is living in the same household as her son. He is still at this address from 1933-39.

PLUME, HENRY  ALEXANDER     mmn FRENCH
GRO Reference: 1879  S Quarter in HOLBORN  Volume 01B  Page 764

Believe Hanna's death has been recorded as below

PLUME, HANNAH       aged 78  = c1857
GRO Reference: 1935  J Quarter in ST. PANCRAS  Volume 01B  Page 46

Whoever recorded her death may never have known she married Harry Boag in 1913 as they had been living together since 1891 census

SS

added: When Hannah married Charles Plume in 1876 she was aged 22(=1854) her father George French deceased.

Thank you for all the help. I never thought to look for Hannah's death with surname Plume.
She was actually a bigamist, as Charles J Plume was still alive in 1913 (when she married Harry W Boag).
I did have quite a bit of the information but it can help to get someone else to look at things with fresh eyes!
Thanks again, Jackie

I have ordered a pdf of the death certificate.
I wonder if one of her children registered her death, knowing that her marriage to Harry W Boag was not valid, so used surname Plume.

Just received the pdf of Hannah Plume's death in 1935.
Informant was her son H A Plume of 17 Gee Street which confirms it is the correct Hannah, but as so often there is an error on the certificate. It lists Hannah as a widow of Charles William Plume, not Charles John Plume but there is enough detail to confirm her identity.
Thanks
